I only saw part of this - highly interesting to see the classically trained musicians getting into the groove - some of the time at least. It just goes to show - what is that thing called swing - and how is it done? Guy Barker did a great job - and I saw our very own Alan Barnes!! Not that I heard his name mentioned at the end - or did I miss this?
I was a tad disappointed - possibly because of my familiarity with the originals - and I didn't think the RAH acoustics did them any favours.
once again Lance I do agree, even though I haven't yet seen it all, I was not wild about it. The acoustics were the same for the Sinatra show, not great...still it is good to see our genre of music recognised at the Proms
