This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Cherry Tree Update

I wanted to let you know that we have decided to close the restaurant on a Monday night.  However we are moving the music night to the Wednesday.  We think that this will improve attendances.
The first three gigs are as follows:
15th October  The James Harrison Trio (James Harrison, Anth Ord, Tom Chapman) with Caroline Bagley - vocalist and tenor player.  She performed here a few weeks ago and received a great reception. She is a great talent.
22nd October   Graham Hardy with Paul Edis, Neil Harland and Rob Walker
29th October    An encore of the 15th Oct gig.
Three great concerts to kick off a new season for us.
