I first heard her in the late 1950s at Newcastle City Hall with the Clyde Valley Stompers. Although she must have still been in her teens I recall her singing with a maturity that belied her youth.
Amazingly, it was over 20 years later when I next heard her. This was at the 1981 Edinburgh Jazz Festival appearing with a variety of bands. I was even more impressed. Age hadn't withered nor custom staled the infinite variety of Fionna's magic.

Sad news. Fiona came to Blaydon a couple of times back in the 1980s, with partner bassist Ronnie Rae. They stayed with us. Both lovely warm and sincere people.
