Very sorry to hear about Roy. Quiet, self-effacing, amazing repertoire in any key. Indeed, he would follow any tune called even if he didn't know it.
For many years I supported him accompanying Theresa at the Crescent Club. Always a pleasure (and an education as he would often look at me in the middle of a number and say, with a smile, 'I think we'll go into G but maybe move elsewhere later".
I shall miss him.
A very talented keyboard player. I depped with him once while his drummer was on holiday. He was surrounded by no less than five keyboards. Amazingly he played one of them behind his back ! As many of you will know he was with me at the Porthole with the Jazz Esquires after the sad loss of Johnny Taws . RIP
I am sorry to here that he has pass away he was a very good keyboard jazz player he will be missed. Rip
