No surprises here - we should be thankful that Jazz Record Requests stays alive though. It's a crumb of comfort, as they say. I was reminded of the Monty Python 'dead parrot' sketch - is this what 'resting' the programmes means?
We have lost loads of Jazz progs over the years, Garry Copley on a Sunday eve from Radio Leeds was cut ages ago from 2 hours to one. Remembering the good old Sunday afternoons on Radio 2...as usual we have seen /heard the best on sound radio.

All is not lost - Danny Farrell's Late Night Chicago Jazz is the best thing since Willis Conover's Voice of America broadcasts back in the 1950's/1960's. You can access it via the BSH LH column. It changes, I think, Thursdays. It's fantastic!
In that same LH column, there's also the Dutch-based Ville de Jazz. Some great sounds from there too.
And, of course, there's JAZZFM on your DAB radio.
Here's another thought, you could also play CDs that you've bought at a local record store near you - they aren't all on the banks of a Brazilian river (Amazon!)
