Bebop Spoken There

Freddie Gavita: "I first got into pedals when playing with Mark Fletcher's outfit Fletch's Brew. I felt with the line up I needed a bit of help" - (Jazzwise April, 2020).

The Things They Say!

Hudson Music: Lance's "Bebop Spoken Here" is one of the heaviest and most influential jazz blogs in the UK.

Rupert Burley (Dynamic Agency): "BSH just goes from strength to strength".

COVID-19

In the current climate we are doing our best to keep everyone up to date. All gigs, as we all know, are off.

However, good old YouTube has plenty to offer both old and new to help us survive whilst housebound. Plus now is a good time to stock up on your CDs.

Also, keep an eye out for live streaming sessions.

Alternatively, you could do as they do in Italy and sing from your balcony.

Today

As we all know there are no live gigs taking place in the immediate future. However, any links to jazz streaming that are deemed suitable - i.e. with a professional approach - will be considered for posting.

All the fun of the jazz carnival!

On Saturday (21 August) members of Dave Rae’s Levee Ramblers (‘The Carnival New Orleans Band’ for the day) play just up the road from the band’s regular Springwell base at the Bowes Railway Carnival Day. Stalls, a barbecue, face painting and more. The jazz comes free along with all the other attractions. Oh, yes…climb on board a locomotive if that’s your thing. Pardon me, boy
Sunday in Durham will take you back to the good old days…Luftwaffe bombing raids, a dose of ‘it never did me any harm’ rationing and other fondly remembered experiences. Yes, it’s Uniformed Services Fun Day on the streets of Durham. View a real life missile launcher, have a go at abseiling (just as well it isn’t 'have a go at launching a missile') and to add at touch of WWII musical authenticity you can listen to/take cover from the Vieux Carré Jazzmen! Didn’t you know there was a war on?
Russell.
