Some Local Jazz History

I'm an expat Geordie clarinettist, who left the area for Carlisle in 1962, and who, I'm pleased to report, is still playing in the Kendal/Morecambe area.
I've just been down to the funeral in Guildford of my old friend Phil Johnson, with whom I played in a short-lived band called the KC Stompers, and his son gave me the attached cutting which I thought might be of interest.   The date would have been sometime in winter 1956-7.
Incidentally, I joined the Alley Cats in 1957 or 58 and played alongside Joe Errington and Allan Palliser for about 2 years (I've seen the photo of the band on your website, but the clarinettist must have been the guy who preceded me).
Great website, by the way - keep up the good work!
