As much as she thoroughly enjoys fronting her Big Band or
her Hollywood Orchestra, or presenting her weekly show on BBC
Radio 2, award winning jazz singer Clare Teal still revels in performing in
more intimate venues. Getting close to an audience is a thrilling experience
for Clare. She engages in a wonderful musical (and often spoken) conversation
with the audience and they in turn feel that they really have witnessed
something personal and very special.
The music played in these shows is always evolving, from The Great
American and British Songbooks to the music made popular by her heroes, Ella
Fitzgerald, Doris Day and Peggy Lee to more
contemporary covers and original material Clare loves to create a melting pot
of styles and genres, but all sung in her inimitable style.
Beautiful melodies, fabulous arrangements and all interspersed with
Clare’s warm and witty story telling.
The duo shows are sung and performed by Clare with piano accompaniment
only, and at her quartet shows Clare will be backed by her excellent trio on
piano, bass and drums.
