Update on Redcar Jazz Club

As visitors to this site may have heard the famous Redcar Jazz Club is now very much up and running and last months rebirth brought in a good crowd and a great atmosphere. The Ray Dales Quartet were asked to make the club debut and this seemed a wise choice as Ray's inimitable humour and fabulous playing went down very well, as of course did the rest of the quartet - Tubby Ayton on bass, Paul Smith on drums and Jeremy McMurray on keyboards.
Gene Jarred on trumpet also helped proceedings move along in a professional manner, as well as delivering great anecdotes of the clubs earlier days.
The next concert is with the Ray Dales Quartet again, guest musicians welcome, and will feature vocalist Ruth Lambert, this concert will be held on the 21st November at the Coatham Memorial Hall Redcar, TS10 1RH ( 01642 483263).
The final concert of the year will be the Gene Jarred Big Band on Sunday the 12th December.
Ian Luck.
