Bebop Spoken There

Freddie Gavita: "I first got into pedals when playing with Mark Fletcher's outfit Fletch's Brew. I felt with the line up I needed a bit of help" - (Jazzwise April, 2020).

The Things They Say!

Hudson Music: Lance's "Bebop Spoken Here" is one of the heaviest and most influential jazz blogs in the UK.

Rupert Burley (Dynamic Agency): "BSH just goes from strength to strength".

COVID-19

In the current climate we are doing our best to keep everyone up to date. All gigs, as we all know, are off.

However, good old YouTube has plenty to offer both old and new to help us survive whilst housebound. Plus now is a good time to stock up on your CDs.

Also, keep an eye out for live streaming sessions.

Alternatively, you could do as they do in Italy and sing from your balcony.

Today

As we all know there are no live gigs taking place in the immediate future. However, any links to jazz streaming that are deemed suitable - i.e. with a professional approach - will be considered for posting.

Rae Brothers New Orleans Jazz Band @ St. Joseph's CMS Parish Centre. Thursday 4th March.

Rae Brothers New Orleans Jazz Band: Dave Rae (banjo & vocals), Mac Rae (cornet, clarinet & vocals), Liz Bacon (clarinet), Mac Smith (piano), John Robinson (double bass) & Paul Bacon (drums). Jazz at St.Joseph's has been going for many a year and the Rae Brothers have been long-time supporters of the organisers' unstinting efforts to ensure the music of New Orleans can be heard in the town of Birtley. Tunes by Duke Ellington - 'Creole Love Call', George Lewis - 'St .Phillip Street Breakdown', Kid Thomas and others made for an enjoyable evening. Good playing by all (Liz and Mac on clarinets a highlight).
Support jazz in Birtley. The next concert features Maureen Hall's Rendezvous Jazz on 1st April.
Russell.
