This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. (Press release) The 2025 Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival Programme is LIVE!

From Friday 11 to Sunday 20 July, we present a genre-spanning celebration—from bebop to boogie-woogie, funk to soul, trad to techno, swing to searing blues-rock. There’s something for every musical mood in this year’s programme.

Acclaimed American guitarist Julian Lage is the final name in our Queen's Hall programme, joining the previously announced gigs from world-renowned singer Curtis Stigers, Scottish trumpet star Colin Steele, American blues icon Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Scotland's own corto.alto.

We are thrilled to welcome an incredible line-up of jazz and blues artists from Scotland and around the globe, including leading light of the British blues scene Elles Bailey, mesmerising New York-based singer Anaïs Reno, techno brilliance from Germany's LBT and New Orleans funk from Jon Cleary.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday 1 May at noon!
