This time last year Steven Moore took the bold step of opening a Yamaha Music School in Blyth. Twelve months on, it's courses galore (name your instrument), many oversubscribed, plus a weekly Monday lunchtime concert series (classical, folk, jazz etc), it's fair to say the Seaforth Street music hub has been, and is, a resounding success.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Steven set about finding another site and this afternoon (Sunday) interested members of the public were invited to attend an open day at Yamaha Music School, North Shields. Located on Russell Street, no more than thirty seconds' walk from the town's metro station, the building was a hive of activity. Music students, soon-to-be music students and the curious were there to take a look inside. Steven and several of his tutors were on hand to conduct tours and discuss his plans for the future. No doubt some decided there and then to sign up to a course! More power to your elbow, Steven!
