Richard Morton Jack came across this vinyl album recorded at Mortonsound Studio on Carliol Square, Newcastle and is curious to find out more.
Richard understands leader Tony Rushby, who plays sax on the record, was a physics researcher at Durham Uni and the rhythm section was the
Jim Vincent Trio: Vincent (piano), Tom Derbyshire (bass), Marshall Walker (drums).
Recording date is estimated as being
circa 1964 which would probably be around about the time when the trio were resident at the Blackfell
Country Club near Birtley.
He would appreciate any further
information such as to who were the other two members of the sextet.
If Tom Derbyshire reads this perhaps he
will be able to fill in the details. Lance

To clarify, I know that Tony Rushby played with Jim Vincent, Tom Derbyshire and Marshall Walker in 1964, but not whether they were on the LP.
The LP also features some prominent flute - perhaps Tony played that too.
He was at Durham Uni when I was at Bede College (The College of the Venereal Bed) 1964-1967 and he used to play tenor in the students' union etc.
