There's probably no other band in the UK - maybe even the world - which brings Harlem to Hoochie as authentically as this band does.
Although I've heard them many times, I'm champing at the bit to hear them again, they're that kind of band and, if you're in a dancing mood, you'll be in (Hoochie) heaven but, if you just want to sit back and enjoy the music with a beer or a cocktail or two, you're still guaranteed an evening spent listening to top quality swing by some of the region's finest exponents of that most essential component of jazz. Was it the Duke of Edinburgh or some other Duke who laid it down in stone that: It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing? A Count was also quoted as saying: Four beats to the bar and no cheating.
Well, House of the Black Gardenia tick both of those boxes plus a few more of their own.
If you're not there, you won't just be square you'll be positively octagonal and never stand tall again.
