This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. The ones that got away - part one.

These are just some of the ones that didn't make the cut - there are more to come. We try to give preference to those who send actual hard copies - I'm one of the last surviving Jazz Luddites. However, in no way does this detract from the albums listed below it's simply that with only a limited number of reviewers to call upon - so be it!

Actually, most of them are ok. David Angel's Out on the Coast is great but 3 CDs are a lot to listen to when the backlog is building up like traffic on the M25.

Lance - maybe it didn't make an impression, but you reviewed Hnatek's trio album here (https://lance-bebopspokenhere.blogspot.com/2021/02/album-review-arthur-hnatek-trio-static.html) in February!
