This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Strictly Smokin' stripped down in the hills

An opportunity to hear Strictly Smokin’ stripped down to a quartet with Alice Grace (voice), Michael Lamb (trumpet), Pawel Jedrzejewski (Guitar), Michael Whent (Bass) – featuring music from  Alice and Pawel’s new Album ‘A Timeless Place’.

In the heart of the Northumbrian countryside, Dennis Kilgallon Gallery showcases artistic
talent in a location so spectacular and remote it is referred to as ‘The Gallery in the Hills’- despite being only 10 minutes drive from the A69. Near to Hadrian’s Wall, Vindolanda, Houseteads and Allen Banks: make a day of visiting throughout the year exhibition changes every two months. If you don’t trust your SatNav, simply follow the yellow and black signs for ‘Art Gallery’ which will take you to the front door of his converted barn and gallery home.
