This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Noel Dennis/Paul Edis Quartet 
Teesside's Noel Dennis is one of the region's most lyrical jazz musicians. Think Chet Baker/Miles Davis. Here with the wonderful trio of Paul Edis on piano, Andy Champion bass and Russ Morgan drms.

Alice Grace with the Peter Gilligan Quartet 
Since moving to the NE Alice Grace has made quite an impact on the local jazz scene. An experienced jazz singer (NYJO and more) she is joined by great local players Pete on pno, Paul Gowland sax, Paul Grainger bass and Russ Morgan drms.

Hong Kong ex-pat Geordie Colin Aitchison, Benny Goodman styled Italian clarinetist Franco Valussi, Cumbria's sax maestro Steve Andrews, Roy Cansdale bass now resident in Gloucestershire and Blaydon's Roly Veitch gtr get together for a session of 30s style swinging jazz.
