This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Thought this would make an alternative Valentine's Day song - I think it's one of the greatest love songs ever but we all have our favourites - let's hear about them.
Nice - she even makes that terrible line: "I burnt a hole in the dining room table" sound convincing! Apart from that it's a great, poignant, song. I also love the version by Mary Ann McCall with Woody Herman's 1946 (I think without checking...) Herd, which has a great arrangement, and some excellent alto by Woodrow.
That's the line that makes the song - lifts it out of the ordinary! Yes Woody's version with Mary Ann was also excellent.

Ooh is that the Nancy Wilson and Cannonball version of Save Your Love for Me? I nearly said the same one to Lance until something a bit folksier popped into my head.
