This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Jazz @ Pizza on the Square - LEEDS, October 30. TESSA SMITH QUARTET

I'm just getting in touch as, basically, we're trying to start up a Jazz evening at Pizza Express in Leeds (like they have down in London) and the first one is on the 30th of this month. If we can get lots of people there and show the venue that there is a market for it up here, then hopefully it'll become a monthly event.
However, in order to fill the 150 capacity restaurant, I need northern jazz fans to help.
The doors open at 6:30pm, and the band is on at 8:00pm - the idea being that you come in for your dinner and stay for the show. Entry is £10 (£8 for concessions) and booking available from 17th Oct.

The success of this really depends on ticket sales, so I'd really really appreciate the help of you guys up here!
