This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Tommy Graham funeral details announced

It has been announced that the funeral of drummer Tommy Graham who so sadly passed away on June 29 will take place on Thursday, July 13, at South Shields' Crematorium on John Reid Road at 2:00pm.

The family have requested family flowers only although donations can be made to the Stroke Association.

Afterwards, family and friends are invited to celebrate Tommy's life at the New Sundial, Sea Road, South Shields, NE33 2LD. Lance

Tommy Graham was not just a great friend to me, he was also like the brother I never had!

Not only was he a great Drummer who I worked with for 50 years, but he was a lovely guy, and was regarded as part of the family by our family members.

We are absolutely devastated at his loss, as we all loved him very much, and will miss him terribly.

RIP Tommy, my friend.
