Central Bar on Sunday (that's today, May 7)!

This afternoon (Sunday May 7) at Central Bar on Half Moon Lane in Gateshead it's the first in the Central Bar Quintet's new 'first Sunday in the month' sessions. Monday nights were going well, however, the switch to a Sunday afternoon is designed to encourage more punters to get along to what is one of Tyneside's best gigs.

This afternoon the play-through album is Miles Davis' Someday My Prince will Come. It's a two o'clock start, a fiver admission (tickets from the downstairs bar). Do make the effort, Pete Tanton will be channelling Miles and Sue Ferris as Hank Mobley and John Coltrane will be a treat, the frontline ably supported by the crack rhythm section of Alan Law, Mick Shoulder and John Bradford. Russell
