Given that most of the BSH posts relate to gig/album reviews as well as previews and press releases which are, of course, what we're all about i.e giving you unbiased information on what's happening at a gig near you. We try not to play God - we are mere disciples - but our aim is, as always, to spread the jazz word irrespective of genre.
So, with this in mind, I feel that I must look past the Joe blew tenor like Trane on Stella at the jam posts and, instead, look to the posts that grabbed my attention because of their more diverse content. Foremost of these were Andy Hudson's reminiscences of his involvement with jazz in Newcastle which ranged from local gigs to mega events in London via Middlesbrough, Ally Pally, Knebworth and beyond. Not forgetting his partnership with the late George Wein pictured on a rare visit to Blaydon Jazz Club.
Jazz needs entrepreneurs like them!
