This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Preview: Samara & Georgia are set to wow Ronnie's

Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 8 & 9) at Ronnie Scott's could go down in history as 'I was there' occasions. Samara Joy, winner of the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, is an astonishing talent. Based in NYC, the 21 year old graduate of SUNY Purchase, New York, simply has to be heard to be believed. Check out Emmet Cohen's live stream with Joy as his special guest (August 2021, readily available on YouTube) and prepare to be amazed! On Monday evening on Frith Street, Samara Joy and her trio, featuring the brilliant guitarist Pasquale Grasso, are set to deliver a memorable performance.
