Witchcraft gets things going - nice fat block chords. As always with Dean, Oscar Peterson is never far away. Bass and drums blending well. This is setting up to be another great night at the Globe. Despite the alternatives offered down at EFG and BBC 4 getting in on the act, a fair number are assembled online for what turned out to be a delightful 60 mins + - not that I was ever in doubt!
Some choice standards and 3 originals by Dean he has his emojis working for him now. Apart from Dean, Mick's bass playing draws plaudits whilst Abbie is, well, er, Abbie! Russell tells me that her Liberty Drums are made in Shildon on the Dabble Duck Industrial Estate. Expect to see a lot of famous drummers driving up to Durham wearing Dominic Cummings' masks to check out these drums!
Most of the numbers played are on a soon to be released album by the trio. Abbie brings her own trio to The Globe next Sunday. Thank you once again Jazz Co-op for keeping the jazz flag flying with such quality productions. (Photo left courtesy of Russell)
