On the day that BSH editor-in-chief LL attended this year's All Party Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group's annual shindig in London, it was too good an opportunity to pass up on visiting the Barbican to view an exhibition of material drawn from the National Jazz Archive. 
Billie is represented, as is Ivy Benson, as are the Guest Stars (present at yesterday's APPJAG event). The past, yes, the present, very much so, and, crucially, the future. There is a neat tie-up with the exhibition, the APPJAG evening and the coming weekend's first Middlesbrough Jazz Weekender - Nikki Iles (the established artist) and the new generation flag bearer Laura Jurd are represented at the Barbican, they were present at Holborn and will be in concert 'up north' at Middlesbrough Town Hall.
