Bebop Spoken There

Avishai Cohen (trumpet): "This is my main thing right now: Live in the here and now, take things one day at a time. I'm stopping everything I can, and stripping everything to the bone. I'm spending a lot of time listening to music, playing, going for walks, enjoying my kids." - (DownBeat June 2020).

Dave Rempis:Ten years from now, I can see musicians streaming concerts in real time and charging a minimal amount for people to watch.” - (DownBeat September 2013)

The Things They Say!

Hudson Music: Lance's "Bebop Spoken Here" is one of the heaviest and most influential jazz blogs in the UK.

Rupert Burley (Dynamic Agency): "BSH just goes from strength to strength".

Today

As we all know there are no live gigs taking place in the immediate future. However, any links to jazz streaming that are deemed suitable - i.e. with a professional approach - will be considered for posting.

GLOBAL NEWSFLASH!

Tony Rose has again had to pull his band, Hermosa, out of a gig at The Globe. However, the Jazz Coop's performance person Debra Milne has, at short notice, announced the following replacement line-up for tonight's session: PAUL GOWLAND (tenor); BRADLEY JOHNSTON (guitar); PAUL GRAINGER (bass): STEVE MULLARKEY (drums).
This could be an even more exciting  prospect than the ill-fated Hermosa.
We've heard Gowland in such disparate settings as the Strictly Smokin' Big Band;  Vieux Carré Jazzmen and various jam sessions, but, all too rarely, fronting a quartet of his peers.
So, get well soon Tony, if such be the case, and rest assured your gig is in good hands.
Lance.
