Pink Lane Jazz Co-operative Share Launch

The Pink Lane Jazz Co-operative made their share launch pitch tonight in an attempt to attract investors to become involved in their ambitious scheme to purchase the Globe pub near Newcastle Arena and turn it into a jazz/music venue. Minnie Fraser fronted the presentation and made an impressive case for the scheme. 

Will it work?

I'm undecided, but think it could be worth a punt for those looking to create a jazz friendly music venue rather than a fast buck.

Apart from the sales pitch - led by a pink Cadillac parked outside, pink champagne and nibbles inside - there was also music from Alan Law on piano (Alan did a version of There is no Greater Love that made it all worth while), Dave Parker (bass); Michael Howard (dms) and John Rowland (ten). Peter Ninnin sat in on drums and there were vocals from Chris Finch - yes the pianist Finch crooning It Could Happen to You - Ann Alex warbling It Don't Mean a Thing, Gabby using her Imagination and Debra M leading us into Temptation before announcing that There Will Never be Another You. It was at this time that I left before I succumbed to an overdose of the bubbly.
