My mum's first husband was a drummer for this band, his name was Joe Ferris. Any details?
In an old MU directory, J.B. Ferris is listed as living at 5 Hartside Place, Newcastle 3. (Wideopen 2192). The 4 digit telephone number suggests this was about 60/70 years ago.
Yes, my mum was last with him in Newcastle, my sisters were born there. No idea where he went after that though. He was a jazz drummer.
Joe Ferris used to come to Emerson's where I had the resident band , Always with Terry O'Neil & the One o' Clock show gang. He was in Denis Ringrowe's Band, & also in Ken Madison's Trio at the Blue Parrot in Sunniside. Terry O'Neil left Tyne Tees for Australia, but I don't think Joe went with them. Hope this helps!
Thank you for that information. I'm trying to find further information on Joe for my sister (his daughter). My mum, Patti, thought he may have emigrated to Australia. Any further info of course will be greatly received.
