This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Press release: Ronnie's new 'Upstairs at Ronnie's' to open in February 2026

Following a year-long redevelopment, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club is set to open its new upstairs music venue: Upstairs at Ronnie’s.

The space has been completely transformed as part of a major revamp of the entire building. Rebuilt as a purpose-designed, intimate auditorium, it honours the club’s six-decade legacy while looking firmly to the future. More info HERE.

The many highlights include the brand-new Ronnie Scott’s Gospel Choir led by the legendary Daniel Thomas, the club’s new Piano Trio Series featuring the likes of Joe Webb, Ashley Henry, Bill Laurance and Charlie Stacey, the first-ever Vocal Jazz Jam hosted by pianist Jamie Safir and a rotating line-up of vocalists Natalie Williams, Emma Smith and Georgia Cécile, Olivier Award winner Cassidy Janson’s celebration of musical theatre classics with a jazz twist, British alternative soul singer Tawiah, a Late Late Show hosted by Tomorrow's Warriors, and for the very first time at Ronnie Scott’s a Classical Series featuring the Ronnie Scott’s Classical All Stars reimagining iconic classical works, and The Close Up Classical series which sees notable cultural figures in conversation with James Pearson and Lizzie Ball (upcoming guests include film composer David Arnold and actress Juliet Stevenson).
