This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Reviewers wanted

Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. A big BSH thank you

As 2025 draws to a close it's a time for me to reflect and thank all of those who have posted and drew my attention to jazz happenings at home and abroad so let's hear it for Russell and Patti, Sylvia T, Colin Muirhead, Dave Sayer, Jerry Edis, Steve T, newcomers Glenn Wright and Richard Morris, Mike Farmer and Jeff Pritchard from way out west, Ron Hampton, Peter Bevan and Ian Hodgson from way down south (Teesside) plus ace snappers Ken Drew, Malcolm Sinclair, Mike Tilley, John Lyon and Pam Y.

Nick Mondello's reviews and interviews from New York, Denny Farrell's frequent mentions on Late Night Chicago Radio, Sebastian Scotney's UK Jazz News, Paul Bream's Jazz Alert newsletter, Wes Stephenson and JNE, Maurice Summerfield, Roly Veitch and, of course, the hardworking Jazz Co-op team who strive to present an interesting and varied programme across the genres at the Globe.
