This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Press release: Tonight @ the Globe - Castillo Nuevo Trio

Castillo Nuevo Trio is an ensemble dedicated to performing the various rich traditions of Afro-Cuban music, Afro-Latin music, Latin Jazz, Salsa, and Samba. Comprised of trombonist Jason Holcomb, pianist Alix Shepherd, and percussionist David Olatunji the group regularly performs a mix of traditional pieces and contemporary compositions in Afro-Latin styles celebrating the remarkable history of these musical cultures.

Looking for a way to celebrate the inclusive multiculturism of our city? Tonight's night's gig at The Globe will be a great way to do it, with Afro-Cuban & Afro-Latin music, Latin Jazz, Salsa, and Samba from Castillo Nuevo Trio.

It's been a tough week financially for venues who've had to shut their doors, so please come out & support us!
