Backing Paul will be the fourteen piece Danny Miller Big Band. The band, mainly from the north west (although usually with a couple of top notch local ringers), has backed Paul on several occasions, including a couple of concerts at South Shields' Westovian Theatre where the packed house gave singer and band a standing ovation and deservedly so.
Although some of the repartee between the singer and bandleader is of the Rat Pack variety this is much more than a mere tribute to a bygone era. Sure he'll tip his hat to Frank and Dean - the audience would feel cheated if he didn't - but you can also expect more contemporary voices to enter into the mix and all done without losing that big band sound.
Paul summed-up his feelings when he said: ''Playing in such an iconic venue is great for myself and the band and I'm really excited for the show.''
