I coughed up my £4.10 without a quibble and then asked the manager if he knew the significance of the beer's name. He looked puzzled, obviously he'd never been asked such a question before.
'Something to do with America, I think'. I pointed out that it related to Charlie Parker, a great jazz saxophonist.
He nodded sagely, 'I knew it had something to do with America'.
Perhaps Greene King should put him on a product knowledge course.
Still, it was a lovely pint although I doubt if Ornithology will become part of the background music and I wouldn't have it any other way. Music and food don't always combine - one can detract from the other. Lance
