Meze Mundo @ the Millennium Bridge (or thereabouts) - August 3

I was out and about on a City Guides Heritage walk along Newcastle Quayside when I heard the distant strains of a band. As we approached the Millennium Bridge it came as a pleasant surprise and a great delight when we happened upon a  group of brass playing musicians.

Sadly, we couldn't linger very long but the music was great. There was only a small number of people watching which was sad because they deserved better. The songs I heard seemed to be a mix of modern songs and more traditional numbers - all given the band's individual take. 

They go under the name Meze Mundo. I have no idea if it's a music collective and organised group or just some impromptu local players who have formed a band to entertain the public. Thankfully they had a collection receptacle which I happily dropped cash into.

I attach a quick snap I took, some readers may well be aware of them and, hopefully, perhaps they could post something mentioning last night's performance. I am sorry I don't have a set list but I think they are worth drawing attention to because they were bringing great delight to those who were watching and, like myself, lingering awhile before passing by.
