Coffee and cake? Tea and cake? Fish and chips? Champagne? VCH4? Tomorrow (Sunday) why not treat yourself to one or more of the above? The Spanish City on Whitley Bay seafront is a local landmark which reopened nearly two years ago following major refurbishment. Restored to its former glory, the Grade II listed building has attracted countless visitors lured by its architectural splendour, stunning views and a menu offering something for everyone.
Starting at noon, Valerie's Tearoom serves coffee or tea and a slice of cake with the VCH4 the icing on the cake. A while later mosey on through to Trencher's (that's the impressive dome dining and events space) for a plate of fish and chips accompanied by the VCH4. And, to finish off, wander up to the first floor Champagne Bar to quaff a glass of champers or, perhaps, enjoy a pint as you look out across the North Sea listening to the VCH4. The VCH4? That's the Vieux Carre Hot 4, resident (playing three sets, one set in each of three rooms!) Sundays, noon 'til three.
