Bebop Spoken There

Noah Preminger: "The U.S.A - the greatest country in the world - didn't lift a finger to help their 3ooo-plus citizens in Morocco. We were abandoned by our own government." - (DownBeat June 2020).

Dave Rempis:Ten years from now, I can see musicians streaming concerts in real time and charging a minimal amount for people to watch.” - (DownBeat September 2013)

The Things They Say!

Hudson Music: Lance's "Bebop Spoken Here" is one of the heaviest and most influential jazz blogs in the UK.

Rupert Burley (Dynamic Agency): "BSH just goes from strength to strength".

COVID-19

In the current climate we are doing our best to keep everyone up to date. All gigs, as we all know, are off.

However, good old YouTube has plenty to offer both old and new to help us survive whilst housebound. Plus now is a good time to stock up on your CDs.

Also, keep an eye out for live streaming sessions.

Alternatively, you could do as they do in Italy and sing from your balcony.

Today

As we all know there are no live gigs taking place in the immediate future. However, any links to jazz streaming that are deemed suitable - i.e. with a professional approach - will be considered for posting.

Lisa Mills @ Burton Agnes Jazz and Blues Festival - July 2

(Review by Annie O' Donnell)
Lisa tells us she had 4 hours sleep and drove on the wrong side of road,
from where they drive in her Birth town in Mississippi and Mobile, Alabama where she now lives as a result of Hurricane Katrina.
She took us all to the church with her Gospel Country songs...
Sister Rosetta's The River is pure soul
Sing Sing Sing Alleluia ...an Acapella delivery with her hand tapping on guitar as accompaniment
was something else...she stood alone on stage and belted out her God Given Voice.
In these days of plastic retakes etc. She was
MOVING TOUCHING. VULNERABLE POWERFUL
AND HAS THE YES YES FACTOR

Lisa is a Spiritual lady and I could sense her Faith
in her raw projection of what lies in her soul
her voice reflects the contents..
The song, Tell Me, is a prayer. The line,
Tell Me What Am I Supposed To Do? from her new album, I'M CHANGING

Her voice is Country Blues Gospel with Jazz Filtering through
in her Swing The Blues style, she is the real deal, no pastiche.
She commands with a powerful Acapella voice,
contrasted to an angelic whisper...
This beautiful auburn haired lady with a
Celtic look and smile and voice
as rich as the great Mississippi river
is a force to be reckoned with..
she is the gentle breeze and a whooshing wind ..
she could have been singing
Celtic Folk songs she has the
love of music written all over her face
and in her voice.

HER NEW ALBUM IS DEFINITELY WORTH BUYING...
