Colin Aitchison, our man in Hong Kong, sent this link to a radio interview with Bob Wilber and Pug Horton on RTHK. Bob recently played at Ned Kelly's with Colin's China Coast Jazzmen. Needless to say Colin too has his say on the program.
In the photo, Bob Wilber is on the left of the picture, Pug is next to him and Colin is on the right with Franco Valussi in between - Satchmo and Duke observe!

Thanks again Colin - what a super interview with 2 lovely people. It reminds me of a time back in the 1980s at the North sea Jazz Festival. We were having breakfast and Bob Wilber was at the next table. The waitress came to take his order. He produced his musicians card. The waitress said, "the musicians eat in the upstairs lounge". Bob replied, "but this is a better menu." The waitress then said, "it will cost you x guilders extra to eat down here." Bob said, "Where's the elevator?"
Great story Lance, you are right, a very nice couple. I am looking forward to staying with them in July, and hope to learn some musical hints from Bob.
