This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Isn't it Romantic?

As it's Valentines Day - not that many of our readers seem to have noticed - I thought I'd retrieve this item from the archives of Bebop Spoken There;
Clare Fischer: "We were in the high school orchestra. When she was 18 and I was 20 I asked her parents permission to marry her. They were classical snobs and I was a jazz musician and they kicked me out of the house and I lost her. To cut a long story short, 44 years later we got together and she became my wife. All this is in the words of Morning." - (Jazz Journal August 1997.)
