Bebop Spoken There

George Shearing: "Speaking about Johann Sebastian Bach I think he'd be a real jazzer if he were alive today. I mean any man who has two wives, twenty kids, gets kicked out of the church for being too harmonically radical and drinks beer can't be all wrong can he?" - (Crescendo March 1984.)

Send me your list(s)

Anybody out there want to send me their fave playlists or gig lists - I'm beginning to think my 10,000 plus monthly visitors (20,000 if you use the Google stats!) never go to gigs or listen to CDs! Which isn't true as I know that Russell once bought a record..

I saw Jaco twice with Weather report at the City hall in 1977 and 1978. Those experiences were just awe inspiring and changed my whole approach to playing drums! Anyone else attend those gigs?

I too saw Jaco at those City Hall gigs. It changed my approach to learning an instrument - I gave up before I started! Hearing Roland Kirk at the Newcastle Jazz Festival had the same effect.
