I felt that the support act to Ms Warwick deserved more than the typical ...earlier on so and so opened the show etc.. this was a strong performance in its own right.
Stewart is often compared with Michael Bublé and there are similarities. However, just as there once were and still are a thousand Sinatra clones - of which Bublé once was one - the Canadian has now found his own voice and Alexander Stewart is pretty damn close to finding his.
His performance tonight was confident and assured despite being confronted with a near capacity audience waiting eagerly to hear Dionne Warwick. That he won the majority over was proved by the queue waiting to buy signed CDs in the interval. I don't think I've seen a support act do so well at The Sage. On the strength of tonight's performance I think Stewart could easily pull a Hall Two crowd at the venue.
And what of that performance? What did we hear?

Alex Webb provided some tasty piano accompaniment and Crosby and Chapman had a couple of moments in the sun.
