This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. The Jazz Series (Scottish).

John Taylor has kindly hipped me to some YouTube broadcasts of a Scottish Television jazz series from the early 1980's. Approximately 25 minutes long the five episodes featured George Chisholm and his Gentlemen of  Jazz which included John McLevy on trumpet and a tenor player who looked not unlike Dave Allenby or maybe Al Gay - does anyone know?
Carol Kidd - very young and dark haired, was the resident vocalist and different guests appeared each week (see below).
We could do with a series like that these days.

I can't help with your specific query, but I can tell you a bit more about the programme in general.

There were four series in all, and they're all available on YouTube. Season One was presented by Annie Ross, Season Two by George Chisholm, and Seasons Three and Four by Ronnie Scott.
