Thanks for the kind words, Lance! I think there are two differences in the proposed November 2011 jazz party (aside from its date). One is that the 11/11 party is self-funded where WB rested on an often precarious cushion of grant / government support . . . so Mike is more free to do exactly what he wants. Not that WB seemed to be under duress in any way, mind you. The second is that the proposed party is slightly narrower and more intense. WB had four venues, usually going on at once -- thus perhaps 154 musicians, if I remember correctly. The 11/11 party promises midday to midnight jazz for three days in one venue, with sixty-minute concerts by a number of bands. More after the fashion of US jazz parties. Still, I was eager to give Mike my subscription money before I left, and hope other fanciers are equally moved to do so. I'd rather have a party to look forward to than my money back. And since I have about ten hours of WB video to post (albeit slowly) on JAZZ LIVES, people can see what they might be enjoying in 2011. Thanks for the use of the hall! Cheers, Michael Steinman
