A couple of new kids on the block played an impressive duo set. Later the lovely Lithuanian Julita sang some Gilberto - she has class and, to the delight of guitarist Herdman, sang in copy keys - guys have been known to fall in love with singers who do that!
The audience included Polish, Bulgarian, Iranian, German, Lithuanian and even English fans!
Would have stayed longer but I had the urge to Hootchie and maybe even Coochie.

Lance, I'm intrigued, what are copy keys? Ann Alex
ReplyDeleteCopy keys, Ann, are the key in which the song was originally written and how it appeared in the sheet music.
ReplyDeleteAs such this is the key, because of familiarity, most musicians are most comfortable playing in.
However, because of the pitch and variation in the vocal range singers frequently need to sing it in a lower or a higher key which can make it difficult for an accompanist playing in an unfamiliar key.
Lance, Thank you, you certainly get educated on this blog!
