This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) In Toon Tonight

Three major happenings in Newcastle tonight. 
Nick Pride and the Pimptones are at Hoochie Coochie, 54 Pilgrim St.. 8:00pm start Admission Free.

The regular Sunday Jam Session at the Jazz Café, Pink Lane - start time indeterminate - Admission Free.

Over at the Bridge Hotel, Castle Garth, Jazz North East's On The Outside and Splinter co-promote The Thing - a Scandinavian trio. 8:00pm. The music may be free but admission for this international group is £10 (£8 concessions).

Late News!: Just heard that the Zoe Gilby Quartet have pulled out of their Hoochie Coochie gig on October 20. They will be replaced by dynamic jazz/rock trio Legohead.
