It has been announced that the 2024
Parliamentary Jazz Awards that were due to be held on July 2 have now been
postponed until early October this year when normal service will, I am told, be
resumed. This is due to the announcement of the forthcoming general
election.
The group's secretariat Chris
Hodgkins explained: 'Once an election is called and Parliament goes into
recess the All Party Parliamentary Groups - of which the All Party
Parliamentary Jazz Group is one - are dissolved and have to be reconstituted in
the next Parliament after the election'.
