This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Preview: Indigo Jazz Voices @ The Globe: February 14

Here is a great chance to enjoy Valentine’s evening with your partner! Get yourselves along to the Globe to hear romantic jazz songs, sung by the talented vocalists of Indigo Jazz Voices. And they are accompanied by the superb playing of Alan Law on piano. Songs to suit the most romantic night of the year include Let There Be Love; Can’t Help Lovin’ That Man Of Mine; I’ve Got You Under My Skin; Isn’t It Romantic; Our Love Is Here To Stay; and of course, the song that has to be sung, My Funny Valentine.

You’ll get at least 4 songs from each singer, so there’ll be many more songs to enjoy, besides those I’ve mentioned. The gig begins at 7.30pm, admission £5, a very reasonable price.
