PS: Of course tonight's gigs at the Jazz Café or The Globe could well join the above list!

The Durham University Big Band (Laura Paul, vocals) at the Forum, Darlington, then at the tail-end of the month the Dead Hedge Trio at the Jazz Café took the honours!
Has to be Laura Jurd septet at the Black Swan
Paul Skerritt Band at Hoochie Coochie? Or maybe Trio Gitan at the Lit and Phil? We're so lucky in this little old town to have all this great music.
For us in Ashington it has to be Alter Ego at the Elephant
Friends in jazz

I don't know if this is allowed, but I'd like to nominate the drum solos in the film 'Whiplash' as my gig of the month. And I hope that the tutors on the Jazz Co-op courses aren't going to become tyrants like the mentor in the film. Talk about being obsessive!
Ann, they never met you at the Arts Advance Writers Group -"Not quite my punctuation Mr Liddle".
