This is a good opportunity to say thanks to BSH for their support of the jazz scene in the North East (and beyond) - it's no exaggeration to say that if it wasn't for them many, many fine musicians, bands and projects across a huge cross section of jazz wouldn't be getting reviewed at all, because we're in the "desolate"(!) Whilst BSH attempts to cover as many gigs, festivals and albums as possible, to make the site even more comprehensive we need more 'boots on the ground' to cover the albums seeking review - a large percentage of which never get heard - report on gigs or just to air your views on anything jazz related. Murder Trial Verdict

Well the sad case is over now and Mark Arthur found guilty of the murder of Heather Arthur. No need to repeat the details as I'm sure there will be plenty media coverage including tomorrow night on BBC Look North after sentencing takes place.
May Heather now be allowed to Rest In Peace

Justice has prevailed, and will allow those of us who knew Heather to have closure and move forward in this knowledge. Rest peacefully my friend, I think of you each time I sing Autumn Leaves...this one is always for you... with love xx

Yes Kath, and I fondly remember Heather singing 'Round Midnight' on the same occasion at the Star pub. God bless her children. I'm so glad I knew Heather.

Well Laurie it wasn't exactly how I wanted to make my début on telly - far from it. One of the saddest moments I've ever experienced.
On a brighter note - Good to hear you''re now a musician as well as a drummer!
