Bebop Spoken There

Whitney Shay: 'A few years back, I did a gig at an Asian grocery store next to the frozen food section. It was the opening of their bakery. It was a jazz gig and I sang jazz standards next to the frozen fish!'' - (Blues Matters! June/July 2020)

Dave Rempis:Ten years from now, I can see musicians streaming concerts in real time and charging a minimal amount for people to watch.” - (DownBeat September 2013)

The Things They Say!

Hudson Music: Lance's "Bebop Spoken Here" is one of the heaviest and most influential jazz blogs in the UK.

Rupert Burley (Dynamic Agency): "BSH just goes from strength to strength".

As we all know there are no live gigs taking place in the immediate future. However, any links to jazz streaming that are deemed suitable - i.e. with a professional approach - will be considered for posting.

Jazz Record Requests/Jamie Cullum

Alyn Shipton's Jazz Record Requests remembers Stan Tracey - Today (Jan 4) 5 pm. Radio 3.
Also, at 10:30 am today on Radio 4, Jamie Cullum examines the question, something along the lines of - is the piano's popularity waning? Not by any means a jazz programme.

I missed Jamie's programme, but in jazz, certainly, pianism is in the ascendent - one only has to listen to the first 30 minutes of today's Jazz Line Up! *

Then stay for the rest as well - a set from Carl Bley, Steve Swallow and Andy Sheppard from last years LJF.

Mmmmmmmmmmm, nice!
