-----
What can I say? always had a smile and a laugh, old school , could play any tune in any key with all the changes and always sounded sweet. - Kevin Eland.

I have known and worked with Pete for over 50 years and have the greatest respect for him both as a gentleman and a very!!! good jazzer who had one of the best ears I have ever known. He will be sadly missed. - Ray Harley.

I first played with Pete in the late 50's and I last played with him a week last Thursday the 9th.Feb. 2012.
we were pals for a very long time.I don't know now who I can ring to find the proper key for songs!
God bless Pete.

So sad to hear about Pete Papprill, a lovely guy and consummate trumpet player. Peter had a great sense of humour, and had a catalogue of anecdotes about musicians, and the various characters associated with the music business. I'm sure he will be 'up there' back with his beloved wife Dot - God Bless
Peter(Tubby)Ayton.
I first met Pete in 1947 when he was playing in Dormans Hall with the resident band. He was one of the reasons that I play the trumpet. I am privileged to have played 100's of gigs with him over the last 60 years [and been outshone on every one of them]
A sad loss, I will miss his friendship. God bless his family, theirs is the greatest loss.
Strange that we are saying goodbye in the same venue that I met him all those long gigs ago.
So sorry to hear of Peter's
passing loyal friend and strong family
wicked sense of humour.love and sympathy to all his family. Trev
